The Case for Better Quality Ignorance

Stuart Firestein is a neuroscience professor at Columbia University, where he teaches a course called Ignorance.  He invites scientists to talk to his students about the state of their ignorance: what they didn’t know a few years ago but know now, what they would still like to know, and how they plan to find out.  He makes a strong case for nurturing a better quality of ignorance in his TED talk:
