A Theoretical Framework Explains the Soul and Afterlife

Near-death experiences, astral projection and the ‘tough question’ of the nature of conciousness continues to inspire current scientific research, and a new theory was put forth in November, 2014.

Studying a near death experience, a professor at the University of Arizona Dr. Stuart Hameroff, said upon death the quantum information that inhabits the nervous system leaves the body and dissipates into the universe.

“Let’s say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing, the microtubules lose their quantum state. The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can’t be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large,” Dr. Hameroff told the Science Channel’s ‘Through the Wormhole’ documentary.

If the patient is revived, however, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and that is what we describe as ‘a near death experience‘.

“If they’re not revived, and the patient dies, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul,” Dr. Hameroff said.

According to British physicist Sir Roger Penrose, Consciousness resides as consistent quantum energy in the microtubules of the brain cells.  Upon death, theory says this information is released from your body, meaning that your consciousness goes with it or could get back in a ‘near death experience’, which is solid proof of consciousness consistence.

  1. I think that as science progress we shall inevitably have greater and greater “scientific proof” as a sceptic may say, of what we all here know to be true. An easy example of this is that the state or condition of death is constantly having to be revised. Another good article bless you. Light.

    • Thanks, Leo – I agree! The amount of research and study being done on the idea of conciousness is certainly heartening! At least the scientist’s craft has advanced to the point that they’re a bit just beyond the mere conjecture stage, making it easier for their colleagues to accept a new paradigm. We’re certainly going to stay tuned!
